NL Adventist eReport (Oct. 5, 2017)
An email communication brought to you by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Newfoundland and Labrador
Greetings brothers and sisters! This issue brings to you a special report on the recent SDANL Board of Directors Meeting, and an Update on Pastor Brushett, but first...
It is the end of summer and with reflection, looking at the present and into the future there are things we can be thankful to the LORD for:
• Our Camp Mtg Speakers ministered well to us this summer.
• The summer programs at Woody Acres went well with no major incidents.
• The new play area was appreciated and well used.
• The two projects of Maintenance Building and Power lines are moving forward.
• Over 100 young people attended Junior and Teen Camps.
• The Burman VBS team stimulated two families from Marystown to check us out for youth camps with the parents volunteering while their children attended camp.
• Other youth from across the island attended camps from local VBS programs.
• Heard recently that Eastlink will not go ahead with building their own separate tower but desire to rent space on our new VOAR FM Tower,
• We received our first $50,000 donation for the new VOAR Tower Project.
• The Presidents of the Canadian Conf. plus SDACC President supported recommending that the 2018 SDACC Budget include a $60,000 gift for the VOAR Tower Project.
• The new VOAR Tower contract has been signed and moving forward.
• Pastor John is getting the medical attention he needs.
• Our new eReport Newsletter has been launched by our Communication Director. Also new Facebook, and Twitter sites are set up for the Mission.
• Our Tithe report indicates we are still ahead of last year’s income by 6.34%,
• Offerings for Missions and NL Advance are also up, which is encouraging.
• My biggest reason for thankfulness to the Lord is the Scriptures give us insight into what is coming on the world leading to the Lord’s return. We can have confidence in our God that He will bring things to a climax and ultimately we will be part of His kingdom. That’s exciting! It helps motivate us to be faithful and serious about our walk with him. We want our families, and friends in the community to have confidence that this world will not completely fall apart, it is in God’s hands. Pastor Ken
